Okay, it wasn't an official Cobb Idol competition, but it was certainly worth television "air time."
If you have not attended any of the Madison Forum social events- you are missing out! Our members are a thoughtful, educated, and active group. This comes from individuals who are passionate about what they believe and what they do. What is most refreshing is that this passion comes through even when what they are doing, is having FUN!
Our last social event was a Karaoke night at the Marietta Conference Center Pub, on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007. There is no doubt that we have a very talented group! The night started with some political discussion, but once the music started- politics went out the window, and an all out party ensued!
I would normally give a play-by-play, but since there were so many of us there; I will give you a list of those who attended and ask the attendees to comment- giving their 3 most memorable or favorite moments of the night!
The List:
Michael Opitz
Becky Opitz
Craig Kootsillas
Victoria Turney
Larry Ceminsky
Bill Byrne
Tom Kiser
Sherri Reese
John Konop
Pat Huey
Karl Schelm
David Brown
Mrs. Brown
My most memorable moments:
Watching Craig and Victoria enjoy each other was the highlight of my night! They danced, they sang, and just enjoyed each other and everyone around them. You must invite these 2 folks to any social event you plan! They are the LIFE of any party!
Dancing and singing with Karl was not just fun, it was a thrill! Yes, we sang a couple of duets, including “You’re the One that I Want” from Grease, and danced to too many songs for me to remember! For one very special night, I truly felt like a woman! Thank you Karl!
Watch out folks, Bill can SING! I had a sneaky feeling that Michael Opitz was an entertainer at heart, and I was RIGHT! WOW- MICHAEL! You rocked the house! Your duet with “Trixie” was a MUST SEE! But I never would have guessed that Bill Byrne was a STAR- and Bill- YOU ARE A STAR!!!!!
Now it is YOUR turn! If you were there folks—share your 3 favorite things of the night!
